New Devfense NSA (Network Security Assessment) Launches from PCIS
November 19, 2008
VANCOUVER, CANADA – November 19, 2008 – IT-security solutions-provider PCIS has officially launched its Boonbox Devfense NSA (Network Security Assessment) offering, which provides an inventory of and organization's network and builds an accurate map of their assets. Devfense NSA identifies network vulnerabilities and creates a roadmap to implement fixes to make networks more secure.
“Cyber criminals are attacking computer systems all the time and it’s important for companies not to drop the ball in 2009 when it comes to the network side of things,” says Pacific Coast Information Systems Ltd. (PCIS) President Vaclav Vincalek. Boonbox is a division of PCIS, helping organizations reach goals for security, compliance, and data integrity.
“There’s no question that web application security is also getting a lot of attention, as it should,” Vincalek notes. "But hackers have never really stopped trying to penetrate computer networks, as we've also discovered in our consulting practice, where we've helped our customers to deploy firewalls and other security solutions."
“A security breach can be devastating to organizations, harming their reputations and ability to operate and putting some organizations out of business, so it’s important to be proactive about security. Devfense NSA helps organizations understand their network and provides a roadmap of security improvements. By proactively looking after security, companies create trust and can provide better customer service."
Devfense NSA brings together the tools, methodology, and expertise to help organizations protect their IT systems. Customers can:
* Easily understand what kinds of devices they have in their network
* Know how people are connecting to their network
* Understand what they need to do to update software or operating system
* Ensure security against known threats and vulnerabilities
* Get a roadmap of security fixes
Devfense NSA is the latest product in the Devfense line of security offerings. Boonbox released Devfense WSA (Web Security Assessment) in 2007 to help organizations identify and fix vulnerabilities in their web applications and move towards security compliance.
