VANCOUVER, CANADA — PCIS (Pacific Coast Information Systems), a full service technology and consulting company, announced today that Western Canada's leading authority on information system validation and compliance has joined PCIS and will lead its growing biotechnology practice. Paul King will be Director, Life Sciences. King has a successful track record of taking biotechs from start-up to commercialization and has more than fourteen years experience implementing information systems that support a company's strategic vision.

King moves over from Inex Pharmaceuticals, where as IT Director, he designed the company's information systems to meet the company's 300% growth and authored all company validation standard operating procedures. INEX is expecting to submit a new drug application (NDA) with the Food and Drug Administration at the end of the year. King also designed the information systems that supported the successful commercialization of QLT's first two pharmaceutical product launches. This included developing a computer system validation plan comprised of standard operating procedures and designing the corporate approach to FDA Part 11 compliance.

Vaclav Vincalek, President, PCIS says, "The benefit to our clients of having someone with Paul King's experience is enormous. His expertise in ensuring information systems meet Food and Drug Administration regulations will help biotechs substantially improve time to market. This move increases the level of service PCIS offers its life science clients."
