Spam: What Is Canada Doing?
CBC Radio-Canada
Written By Dominique Arnoldi
The only country of G-8 not to have adopted an anti-spam law, Canada will have to quickly make up for its lost time in the war with junk email.
Some excerpts of the interview with PCIS President Vaclav Vincalek:
"If you think it through, how come we have an anti-virus industry? The only reason we have an anti-virus industry is because the operating systems which are not engineered properly are susceptible to viruses..."
"So this is where people should sit back and say "why is it that if I buy a software system, I have to buy other pieces? So that's why the spammers exist, because the system was designed for good people, and it did not have enough safeguards."
